This species is a small and thin species collected at Xishuangbanna (Dai), Yunnan. It is a province in China borders with Vietnam and
therefore it is a tropical species. The hatchlings are very thin and dark in color. I have tried using spring tails to feed them but they
appear to take small D. melanogaster without problem, but anything small would be preferable due to the small size. The mantis grow
longer with each molt and feeding fruit fly is easier after first molt.
